Meet Marissa

Creativity grabbed hold of me at a young age and has never let go. I hope it never does. I danced, sang, took photos, and painted throughout my childhood in Southern California and Western Colorado, and brought art into my life as a young adult as often as I could. Now, I live and work as a professional artist in Grand Junction, CO, and continue to create and grow as a painter and graphic designer. I love to read and travel also, passions that are evident in my work.

When painting, I gather most of my inspiration from the natural beauty of my surroundings--I'm lucky to be located in a desert climate, near gorgeous vineyards, with mountains and forests less than an hour away. My travels to Europe and several incredible U.S. cities also inspire me. Feminine figures bring me joy and strength, so I gravitate toward these subjects as well. In each composition, you will find easy movement, interesting color combinations, and ethereal elements paired with geometric shapes for a defining twist of abstract expressionism. My goal is to convey happiness, serenity, and strength in every piece.

I also enjoy creating typographical art prints that feel both minimal and contemporary, to reflect my love of words and books. Displaying a favorite quote or saying in your home or office can be a fun and inexpensive way to express your personality. I love designing prints that make people feel understood and make them smile.
